What topics are covered?
What does literacy look like in science?
“In correlational studies of science learning, the strongest and most consistent predictor of pupils’ scientific attainment has undoubtedly been how literate they are.”
Karen and Amanda will look at relevant research and provide simple examples of how to support students and teachers in developing literacy in science lessons.
There will be an opportunity to share what you are doing in your schools to help students get to grips with literacy in a science context.
Leadership of Science
This session will involve discussions about how to support your staff (and it’s not about chocolate but that helps!), having effective meetings both formal and informal, evaluating your curriculum, thinking about stretch and challenge opportunities and science enrichment.
