Summary

Cambridge and Northants Computing Hub and Cambridge Maths School are excited to present the first Cambridge Festival of Physical Computing. 

A full-day event with a choice of Physical Computing Workshops to inspire and enthuse. Close to Cambridge City Centre, delegates can combine workshops and sessions with a visit to the city itself. 

Workshop preferences will be sought following booking. 

Registration opens at 9.15am.

  • Getting to Grips with the Micro:bit at Key Stage 2
  • Making the Most of the Micro:bit at Key Stage 3

Workshop 2

  • Data Logging at Key Stage 2 in Computing and Science
    • Parallel workshops involving the option of using data loggers or micro:bits
  • Exploring Advanced Features of the Micro:bit at Key Stage 2
  • Making the Most of STEM Ambassadors in your setting (Primary & Secondary)

Workshop 3

  • Cross-curricular uses of Physical Computing in Primary Schools
  • Bring your DT to life with Crumble Controllers (Primary)
  • Getting to Grips with Pi Pico at Key Stage 4

Outcomes

Participation in the day will offer delegates:

  • hands-on, practical experience of physical computing appropriate to both the Primary and Secondary Curricula;
  • an opportunity to explore how Physical Computing can engage and enthuse your students in computing;
  • cross-curricular approaches to support schools to embed computing across the wider curriculum.
