Strengthening Practical Work in GCSE Science Subscription RA913 / A70
Summary
It is well known that practical work in Science improves learner engagement. However whilst the learners are usually keen to undertake practical tasks, it is much more challenging to ensure the intended learning takes place. This course starts by exploring the research around effective practical work, and provides an opportunity to reflect on the current effectiveness of the practical work undertaken by you and/or your department. We will then work through practical examples to explore how practical work can be used to support concept development, how effective questioning can be used to develop understanding and finally how to support learners when approaching practical and extended response exam questions.
A school signing up to this subscription may send a different teacher to each session. The subscription includes 3 sessions.
