Ocean Explorers Club - Marine Biology Virtual Session

WiseOceans

What is the fastest animal in the sea? Is the blue whale really the biggest animal that has ever existed? Why do flying fish fly? How do dolphins sleep? There is so much to learn when it comes to the ocean! We’re ready to take you on an ocean exploring journey and answer all these questions and more.

WiseOceans is marine conservation and education company that has been delivering marine education across the world, both virtually and in person, for over ten years. During the last ten years, we have engaged over 11,000 students and teachers across 37 countries!

Our virtual lessons are delivered by active marine biologists and conservationists who are also experienced educators. Lessons aim to engage, educate, and inspire the next generation, focusing on the wonder of our oceans and the positive steps we can take to help them.

Lessons cover a variety of topics: from the anatomy and behaviours of some of the world’s favourite sea creatures, to exploring the most beautiful and vital marine habitats and diving deep into the different ocean zones. Our presentations are full of photos and videos of the underwater world, including some of our educators’ own footage taken while working in the field.

Sessions are virtual and last 40 minutes and aim to be interactive when appropriate with class size. A short pop quiz takes place at the end to help solidify what the children have learnt throughout, and time for their questions can be allocated. Worksheets are provided that the students can complete in their own time after the lesson.

Lessons can be tailored to suit your class size, age, and ability. It doesn’t matter where in the world you are based! You will just need an internet connection and a class full of curious minds.
