Plants for primary pupils

The resources in this collection provide a wide variety of detailed activity ideas for investigating plants. Linking to the areas of life cycles, habitats, food chains and recycling and the structure and function of a plant, they offer many opportunities for the development of working scientifically. Resources, provided by Science & Plants for Schools (SAPS),  include teacher guidance, background knowledge, further ideas and classroom worksheets. They are:

Reproduction and life cycles Part 1:  looks at parts of a flower and the role they play in reproduction.

Reproduction and life cycles Part 2:  looks at plant reproduction and life cycles, pollination, fertilisation, fruit formation and seed dispersal.

Plants in their natural environment: contains many activities related to plants, habitats, food chains and recycling.

Parts of a plant and their functions:  introduces children to the structure and function of the parts of a flowering plant.
