Reproduction and Life Cycles - Part 1

Aimed at primary level, this resource looks at parts of a flower and the role they play in reproduction. A range of activities are provided which build on their understanding of the parts of a plant. These include: a dissection of a flower to see its parts – the sepals, petals, stamens and stigma, style and ovary, making simple models of a plant and games to reinforce children’s learning. It is the first of two resources which look at plant reproduction and life cycles, the second booklet looks at pollination, fertilisation, fruits and seed dispersal.

Produced by Science and Plants for Schools (SAPS), it is one of a series of booklets written to support plant science in the Primary Curriculum.
