My wild life: a family guide to wildlife spotting and fun outdoors
This resource, aimed at primary learners, links to work on identification, classification, habitats, biodiversity and climate change. The book was created to celebrate a two year project to learn more about different generations’ childhood experiences of nature.
Real life stories provide a context for identifying common amphibians, reptiles, birds, mammals, invertebrates and wild plants and finding out more about their habitats. It also contains pictures of common wildlife, which aid identification, and activity ideas including pond dipping, bug hunting and tips for spotting animals in the wild.
The real-life stories help to bring complex issues such as biodiversity loss and climate change to life and aim to inspire new generations to take the steps necessary to conserve wildlife. This resource has been provided by the wildlife charity Froglife. The report created using the data collected during this project may be viewed here.
