Are you looking for real life engineering stories to inspire your students?
The BAE Systems early careers awareness programme is a teacher and technician CPD event that provides schools with an inspiring and thought provoking day at a local BAE Systems site.
Find out what goes on behind the doors of your local BAE Systems site and meet the people behind some of the world’s most advanced aircraft, submarines, aircraft carriers, warships and other innovative technologies.
During the day you will be able to:

  • discover your local BAE Systems site and explore the cutting edge design and technology used to bring the UKs top defence platforms to life
  • meet the people behind the cutting-edge technologies and services and learn about their career journeys and education
  • find out about different routes into the industry and learn how your students can become more involved in BAE Systems’ activities
  • develop ideas on how to prepare students for their first role in industry and find out how the recruitment process works
  • receive training and resources for a new engineering themed STEM Resource, created by the Royal Academy of Engineering

In Glasgow, BAE Systems Naval Ships business designs and manufactures a number of complex naval platforms, like the Royal Navy’s new Offshore Patrol Vessels or the Type 26 Global Combat Ship - a highly capable and versatile multi-mission warship designed to support anti-submarine warfare, air defence and general purpose operations anywhere on the world's oceans. During the day, you will have the opportunity to find out more about these programmes, see how we operate as a business and meet current apprentices and graduates.
