This course will provide a thorough grounding in the science technician profession and is suitable for those new to the role within a school or college.
The course is split into two three-day sessions. The first session includes: health and safety, solutions and gas making, glass working, soldering, repairing equipment, working as a science technician and core skills.
The second residential period includes: chemistry, biology, physics, microbiology, plant and animal care, data logging and future development.
This course includes an online component to extend and embed your CPD. It will provide you with support whilst back at school or college, and enable you to collaborate with others and to share experiences and resources. You will receive support to enable you to complete your action plan or gap task and you will also be able to access the online learning community after this period. The online component is an integral part of the course and has been included in the fee and the associated ENTHUSE Award. Normal terms and conditions apply.
This is a residential course, fees include meals and accommodation for the duration of the course. Course fees vary for participants outside the UK. Please contact enquiries@slcs.ac.uk for more information.
