Summary

This course will help to identify the links between science and maths. You will undertake activities from across a range of mathematical topics, such as how to use measurements to create and identify the longest snake (materials topic in Key Stage 1) to activities (in chemistry) that demonstrates the need for precision in measurement in Key Stage 2. Strategies will be promoted that enable the effective development of graph skills across the whole primary age range.

There will also be opportunities to explore investigation and problem solving linked to Fibonacci, as well as try simple activities such as "How tall are you in leaves?"

Outcomes

You will be able to:

  • plan science activities that develop mathematical skills
  • identify the progression of mathematical and science skills
  • use science activities to effectively assess mathematical skills
