Summary
The COVID-19 pandemic has meant that a number of science teachers have not been able to experience the required practicals first hand. Sometimes the first experience a teacher may have had on this topic could have been remotely. Now that we are, hopefully, returning to normality, this CPD opportunity will give delegates the opportunity to experience key science required practicals, understand what makes an effective practical lesson and how to plan for this effectively.
The event will make links to the recent OFSTED ‘Research review on science’ https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/research-review-series-science as well as the Gatsby ‘Good Practical Science report: https://www.gatsby.org.uk/uploads/education/reports/pdf/good-practical-science-report.pdf and the ‘Good Practical Science – making it happen post-COVID-19: https://www.ase.org.uk/sites/default/files/GoodPracSci%20-%20Benchmarks%203.0.pdf
