Summary

This session is for Secondary and Primary Science Leaders and Teachers to support Science Leaders to embed research into practice.  This is a free event for schools.

Dr Niki Kaiser, Director of Norwich Research School and Chemistry teacher, former Science Content Specialist, will lead an exploration of how science teachers and leaders can be effective at putting research into practice whilst meeting the demands and challenges of the day to day

Niki will lead a wide-ranging exploration of putting evidence into practice including

  • An overview of the principles of the EEF Science reports (secondary and primary).
  • The challenges of embedding research in primary and secondary contexts.
  • How do we address misconceptions in our students and in our teachers?
  • How can we make retrieval work – it’s more than quizzes?

12:30 – 13:15 Networking lunch provided

13:15 – 15:00 Workshop and table discussions, in phase groups, led by Dr Niki Kaiser with input from Bradford’s Science Leaders

15:00 – 15:15 Plenary and final remarks
