Summary

If you're a design and technology subject leader or teacher with a strong interest in leading design and technology, you can't afford to miss this course!

You'll gain a deeper understanding of the aims of the curriculum, develop your own subject knowledge and identify the role subject leaders play in developing a whole school approach to teaching the programmes of study for KS1 and KS2.

You'll explore how to introduce computer-aided design with pupils to generate, develop and model designs for products, showing how this can support them to develop prototypes. You'll explore how to support pupils in creative digital projects which support the curriculum aims. This course includes hands-on learning about Crumble Controller and how to use it in the classroom.

You'll look at your own D&T curriculum to ensure it's progressively planned, well-balanced and meets the needs of your learners. You'll identify solutions to potential challenges facing the teaching of D&T in your school.

You'll leave this course with resources to help support you to embed D&T effectively in your school.
