Summary

Are you new to the science technician profession? If so, this course is perfect for you!

Through a range of intensive hands-on sessions, we'll explore the necessary basic skills a science technician needs to effectively prepare practical lessons.

The course is split into two three-day residential periods. The first part concentrates on core technical skills and includes sessions on health and safety, solutions and gas making, glass working, soldering, greenhouse science, microbiology, repairing equipment and working as a science technician.

The second residential period introduces further practical skills in chemistry, biology, physics and datalogging, STEM club activities with an additional health and safety on fire safety.

This course may support you with Science Benchmark 4 - Purposeful practical science

Suitable for those new to the role of science technician within a school or college, this CPD activity provides a thorough grounding in the science technician profession
