Summary

Technology and digital tools can support SEND learners in many ways. You will explore a range of digital tools to improve accessibility in STEM subject and across the wider curriculum. Including technology for communication, accessibility tools built into to mainstream applications, and apps and websites which support accessibility. You will explore effective approaches to support learners with a wide range of additional needs and disabilities to ensure that your classroom and STEM teaching is as inclusive as possible.

How will you learn?

This course is composed of a mixture of participant-led sessions, to be completed at your own pace and live interactive remote sessions with an experienced practitioner.

The participant-led sessions will be shared via email before the date stated for the session and will need to be completed before the next session.

Outcomes

By the end of the course you will:                                                  

  • Enhance your understanding of the issues SEND pupils face in accessing the curriculum 
  • Develop techniques to actively engage SEND learners through technology in STEM subjects
  • Recognize highly effective strategies for teaching and learning of SEND pupils using technology
  • Implement action plan changes in your practice to use technology to support the SEND pupils
