Practical Chemistry for Technicians NN606

Summary

Chemistry is often the most time consuming of the three sciences for a technician to provide a service for and although the practical general are more reliable there are often greater concerns around health and safety and preparation skills. This course will help you as a technician provide effective chemistry practical work for your students. We will cover how to prepare some common practicals and demonstrations, looking at the health and safety concerns, equipment, sourcing, preparation skills and disposal areas for each practical that's demonstrated. We will also look at resources you can use and some new and more innovative chemistry practicals you should use in your department. As part of the course we will also spend time evaluating and looking at best practice guidance and regulations on chemical handling and storage.

Session timings will be confirmed nearer the time. Please contact Gill Humes if you have any questions.
