Summary
An event for KS3 Teachers in Wales at the Welsh government funded cyber centre of excellence, the National Digital Exploitation Centre (NDEC) in Ebbw Vale, to see how you can enhance your teaching of Cyber Security in the GCSE curriculum and inspire learners to consider career and study pathways into this growing sector.
By demonstrating the technology on site and discussing up-to-date industry trends, we will discuss how presenting these real-life examples of industry security concerns can enthuse learners around these aspects of the curriculum. We will also demonstrate how relating learning to security for Operational Technology (OT) and Critical National Infrastructure (CNI) can deepen understanding of the concepts they learn and help them to gain perspective and purpose in their studies of these topics.
In addition, we will explain how cyber security topics and initiatives can be used to enhance careers and work-related experiences for all learners, and to help increase the number of learners opting for these GCSE subjects, including increasing gender diversity. We will finish with a site tour and the opportunity to discuss booking activities in with the NDEC.
