The workshop will help STEM club leaders measure and maximise the impact of their club and identify evidence that supports the benefits the club brings to students, teachers, and the school. Assisting the club leader to demonstrate how the club meets its club objectives and is supportive of the school improvement plan, STEM agenda and careers plan. Club leaders will learn how to recognise opportunities that promote the value of the STEM club and identify methodology to measure club impact. STEM clubs are supportive of Gatsby Benchmark 4 and provide ideal opportunities through club engagements to support Benchmarks 1, 3, 5 and 7.


Summary

The workshop will cover why it is important to collect impact measurement, how evidence can be gathered, how often to measure impact and how to use the evidence to demonstrate the short and long term benefits of the club. Club leaders will review their STEM club to identify aspects that will provide focus for improvement and will explore opportunities to recognise the value of their club. At the end of the workshop participants will be able to create a focused impact measurement plan that will help build a portfolio of evidence that can be used to support the club and meet school needs

This workshop is for secondary schools, Sixth Form and FE Colleges in England looking to understand impact methodology and provide evidence of the success of their STEM club and the benefits it brings. Suitable for experienced club leaders.
