During this one day course you’ll learn how to create video content, including filming your own content before editing the content.


Summary

Video content is all around us, from social media to being broadcast live on TV, video content is widely created to grab the attention of your target audience, tell a story and even build a brand.

During this one day course, you’ll explore how to plan and capture suitable video clips, you’ll learn how to edit video content to create meaningful products in response to a client brief. With your Professional Development Leader, you’ll explore different camera angles; composition; how lighting can impact your content; camera techniques and settings; and file formats. You’ll learn how to edit video clips together, cropping and adjusting the content to achieve the aims of your client brief.

Attending this course will develop your understanding of how to edit meaningful video content, which can be used with the Level 1/2 Cambridge National in Creative iMedia qualification. You’ll have the opportunity to hear from a STEM Ambassador working in the video development industry, including the opportunity to ask questions.

Who is it for?

This one day course is suitable for any secondary teachers planning on, or already teaching how to develop creative video content.

What topics are covered?

  • Planning suitable video content – during this first session you’ll explore how video content is used within society for different purposes. You’ll learn how to effectively plan video content using storyboarding and shot lists.
  • Video techniques – during this session you’ll explore different techniques available when creating video content, you’ll learn about different camera angles, composition, lighting and camera settings.
  • Video editing software – during this session your Professional Development Leader will explore freely available video editing software. You’ll get to grips with how to edit meaningful content, including how to crop, use overlays, sound etc.  
  • File formats & exporting – during this final session you’ll explore the different file formats available and the considerations needed depending on how the video clip will be presented.
