Finding the Fun in the Fundamentals of Science in the WAU - Northern Ireland Teachers ONLY NN035

This course is particulary suitable to those teachers who are new to WAU or don't generally don't feel confident teaching science.


Summary

As part of a tailored three-day course for KS2 teachers, specific science topics ranging from electricity to the human body will be covered in an interactive and fun way. Teachers will attend two in person sessions (day 1 and 3) where they will receive access to a range of resources, activity ideas and helpful tips. Day 2 of the course (remote) will allow teachers to develop their own activity based on learnings from day 1 of the course.

Outcomes

Participants will be able to:

  • explore a wide range of practical activities across science and links to the wider curriculum
  • increase their range of approaches to classroom and practical management
  • practice a range of engaging and exciting teacher-led demonstrations
  • develop and devise their own practical science activity.

Please note - if you work at a state funded school or college in Northern Ireland you will be eligible for the ENTHUSE subsidy upon full attendance on this course
