This blended-learning course covers 3 core physics topics at KS3 and KS4: Electricity, Forces and Energy. Course includes two 2-day residentials.


Summary

This intensive Subject Knowledge for Physics Teaching course for non-specialists covers three modules; Electricity, Forces and Energy.

Upskill your subject knowledge and pedagogy, building the tools to be a confident teacher of physics. Cover all KS3 and KS4 content including required practicals.

Complete the course to gain 3 SKPT modules and a Subject Knowledge Award in each topic accredited by the Institute of Physics.

The course will include:

  • 4 full days in-person
  • 3 x 1.5hr remote webinars
  • Supported online study of up to 30 hours, including activities, videos and quizzes.

This course is only available for teachers in England who have QTS and do not have a physics ITT qualification.

Outcomes

The SKPT blended learning CPD will:

  • develop teaching skills and confidence.
  • consider mathematical problem solving, conceptual challenges, practical work and pedagogical reflections.
  • be delivered in a supportive learning network.
