Are you new to teaching Core Maths? If so, this course is perfect for you!


Summary

You'll work with experienced mathematics teachers to help you increase your confidence, develop teaching strategies for, and deepen your understanding of Core Maths.  

Core Maths is the term for a suite of Level 3 qualifications designed for students who achieved at least a Grade 4 in GCSE mathematics and have chosen not to study A level Mathematics, but want to develop their quantitative and problem-solving skills by continuing to study mathematics. In October 2023 the core maths premium was introduced to encourage the provision of core maths qualifications and expand maths education for students up to the age of 18.

We'll cover topics common to all Core Maths specification, including ways of contextualising mathematics, modelling, estimation and more.

  • considered different sources of resources and how they may be used in the classroom

  • discussed the different qualifications available and models for implementing core maths in your school or college
