Revised Nuffield Physics Years 1 and 2

Years 1 and 2 of Revised Nuffield Physics were planned as years of gaining acquaintance with materials, their properties and behaviour. These years also introduced various instruments, and the way scientists do things, and just a little of the way scientists talk. They were intended, as in the original Nuffield Physics, to provide opportunities for seeing and doing, with very little to be learnt by heart. But, in the second of the years, there was a little more emphasis on organizing the knowledge in a scientific way by looking for general rules of behaviour and by using imaginative models.
