Stage One Resources

Stage one of Nuffield National Curriculum Mathematics consists of three books one each for Number and algebra, Shape space and measures and Handling data. They are all at level four of the National Curriculum.

Each students' book is accompanied by an Assessment and Resource pack offering the following materials:

• Teaching notes: brief notes are provided for each unit of work.

• National Curriculum match: matching charts are provided in the pack.

• Copiable revision and extension worksheets: no book can provide fully for the needs of
pupils of all abilities. The copiable revision sheets in the packs were mainly designed to support slower learning pupils; the extension sheets are designed for those pupils who need a greater challenge.

• Copiable worksheets: these provide grids, cut-outs, data collection tables and similar items so that pupils can avoid time-consuming copying.

• Copiable assessment sheets: the assessment sheets provide a complete assessment scheme focused on the National Curriculum level descriptions. The assessment materials are described in more detail in the packs.

• Answers: answers to the pupils' book, revision and extension sheets.
