There is advice on the legal requirements of handling special needs, including information on the Code of Practice for special needs and ideas for working with parents and outside agencies.

There are six chapters of practical activities linked to all six areas of the Early Learning goals. Theses how how autistic spectrum difficulties can be supported in an inclusive approach that involves all children in the group.

A section of supporting photocopiable activities is included and there is information on further sources of help and information.
