Opportunities for science in the primary chool

This volume examines the reality of science in primary classrooms. It offers a balanced comparison of models, content and approaches and stresses the importance to children of global issues, such as environment, health and energy.

Through an extended case study, the book raises questions of current concern and suggests solutions which take account of the need for equality and justice in science opportunities. The book encourages teachers to accept their own tentative ideas and to refine these as a means of professional development.
