Young scientist investigates everyday chemicals
The Young Scientist Investigates topic book on Everyday Chemicals was published in 1984 and gives information, illustrated by full colour photographs and drawings, about how chemicals used in everyday life are obtained. The word ‘chemical’ is used throughout to refer to elements and compounds of different kinds, without discussion of their composition in terms of atoms and molecules. The book is intended for children aged 8-11 to read and then to answer question and carry out some investigations with common substances.
