KS3 Antarctica - Science Teachers in the Freezer

This Teachers TV film follows a group of teachers on an expedition to the Antarctica to carry out scientific research. The team will be looking for lichens in the Ellsworth Mountain region, documenting where they were found and taking samples. They will also be looking at the effects of extremely low temperatures on the human body. The film explains why Antarctica is often ideal for scientific research, but how difficult it can be to conduct experiments in such a harsh environment. During the entire process, the teachers provide an insight into how to conduct a rigorous scientific experiment from start to finish, and explain how important it is to record data accurately.
