Exploring the Nature of Science: Key Stage Three

This Exploring the Nature of Science book is divided into units each of which deals with an episode in the history of science. The units involved a variety of teaching and learning methods. 

Aims

Units in this book were designed to help students to learn: 

*to tell the story of an advance in science

*to accept that different interpretations of an experiment are possible

*to use a scientific model to make predictions

*to reflect on the uses of imagination and experiment in science.

In addition, students were expected to be aware of the way developments in science are affected by the social, spiritual and moral climate in which they take place.
