Running an 'Anatomy Club' for L3 Science
Produced in 2011 by the Learning Skills Improvement Service, these materials help to demonstrate effective practice. This case study, from Loughborough College, looks at the theme of enrichment and enhancement of STEM. Basic anatomy teaching has all but disappeared from current curricula and thus good anatomical teaching is being lost. This project involved two A level biology tutors developing and delivering a short, hands-on, non-accredited enrichment programme for A level students who had an interest in furthering their knowledge of human anatomy. It is intended that this model will be developed for use with students on vocational programmes which include anatomy and physiology, such as sports science, health and social care, and hair and beauty.
