Securing Level Five in Year Nine

These National Strategy materials were intended to support teachers in addressing the needs of those Year Nine students who entered Key Stage Three having achieved level three, or a low level four, in the Key Stage Two National Curriculum tests in mathematics.

Materials to support teachers in this work in Year Nine include:

Sample medium-term plan: Year Nine intervention in section two of this pack.This Year Nine intervention plan is closely linked to the original Year Nine sample medium-term plan for mathematics. It is pitched at the level of the main Year Eight teaching objectives i.e. level five. It builds in key elements of the Key Stage Three programme of study and illustrates where the materials in this pack can be incorporated.

Year Nine intervention lessons and resources in section 3 of this pack.
