Education Pack: Minibeasts - Invertebrate Survey
This resource, produced by OPAL (Open Air Laboratories), aims to develop an awareness that there are different kinds of invertebrates in the environment which have different habitat requirements. It links to the topics of minibeasts, habitats and classification and is designed for use outside the classroom when visiting a wildlife area.
At Key Stage One children look at different habitats and find and identify invertebrates using the species guide provided.
Key Stage Two learners carry out a timed minibeast survey, first predicting what they may find in each of the different habitats.
Contents include: instructions on running the activities, identification guide and a recording sheet.
