Negative Numbers

This series of interactive excel sheets explore negative numbers. Answers can be checked each time and new questions generated at the click of a button.

In the first sheet students have to fill in the gaps in a sequence of consecutive numbers. In the following sheet students have to decide what value the arrow is pointing at on a number line.

The next two sheets investigate thermometers. In the first sheet students read values from a number line displaying temperatures. There are three levels of difficultly and three possible answers to choose from. The second sheet generates a series of questions comparing two separate thermometers.

In the fifth sheet students have to place five temperatures in order- the hottest at the top. Three levels of difficulty can be set and once placed each temperature is illustrated on a chart.

The final sheet aims to generate a discussion on negative coordinates by plotting a series of points on a pair of axes. Plot or remove points in any of the four quadrants or generate random points.
