Money Problems

This resource, aimed at early years and lower primary, contains an interactive spread sheet designed to illustrate teaching points on the topics of money. Ideal for use with the whole class at the start or end of a lesson it provides screens on the following:

Change problems: calculate the change required in a variety of purchases.

Monetary notes: select the smallest note required to pay for a series of items, and what change to expect.

Euros: convert pounds sterling to euros.

Sale prices: calculate sale prices when prices by reduced by multiples of 5%

Bulk prices: if you know the price for a number of items, calculate the price of an individual object, or other quantities of the same item.

This resource has been provided by the Virtual Textbook. It is part of the Geometry and Measure sub-collection, which contains many further curriculum linked interactive spread sheets.

Note:

This program was designed to be viewed on a screen with a resolution of 1024 x 768. Users may have to adjust the resolution of their screen for the pages to display as was originally intended. The program uses macros which need to be enabled on the users machine.
