Oxfordshire primary science twilight programme RP159

Develop your primary science curriculum with this series of primary twilight CPD

Summary

This series of three twilight sessions is designed for primary teachers who are keen to ensure they realise the potential of the primary science curriculum to inspire and nuture pupil curiosity, facilitate 'hands-on' practical science with real world contexts and adequately assess pupil knowledge, understanding and skills.

They can be done separately but are best done as a series of three. We are planning to run the sessions several times in different areas of the county during this academic year so that they are accessible to all.

  1. Practical science

Come and be inspired about creative ways to teach primary science in a practical 'hands-on' and engaging way.  Share ideas that you can then apply in your classroom and feedback.

2. Assessment and progression

Hear about the latest tools to assist in accurately monitoring and assessing pupil progress in science. Consider how to best ensure pupils make optimum progress across the primary years and focus on what age appropriate progression looks like.

3. Scientific enquiry and working scientifically

Examine the five areas of scientific enquiry that need to be incorporated into the primary science offering. How can these be planned for and delivered? How do you know your pupils are developing their working scientifically skills?
