Mechanical resonance

In this investigation students use a mass of plasticine on top of a hacksaw blade to see how the mass of the plasticine affects the resonance frequency that the blade will vibrate at. This is done by using a vibration generator as well as masses to support the apparatus. This would be a good investigation to do when looking at waves, and providing and unusual context in which it is rarely shown.
