STEM and Science Clubs RC226 / H02
Summary
Extra-curricular clubs are an excellent way for students to experience the wider range of science topics and broaden their enthusiasm for science. For staff it can be a positive audience to try out new teaching techniques, practicals and to gain evidence for their performance management. This session is aimed at low cost, easy to prepare STEM Clubs and highlight some of the free resources available with a sprinkle of marketing magic to raise the profile of yourself, your subject and school. The session is hands-on, with the opportunity to network.
Audience: ITT, NQTs, RQTs, primary science staff
Outcomes
- improve your understanding of the range of career options open to students of STEM subjects
- explore a range of resources which can support teachers in highlighting STEM career pathways
- develop ways of signposting career options in your teaching
