Summary

This course is designed for teachers who are new to teaching triple science with a particular interest in developing their use of practical work.

Practical work can be a barrier to the effective delivery of triple science as some teachers feel they do not have the confidence, time or ability to develop their students’ learning through practical work. You may also need support in understanding how practical work is assessed in triple science, how it can be managed effectively in your classroom and where to find engaging practical activities. Through the course you will explore these issues, reflect on how they impact on your teaching and develop ways of confidently using practical work to develop learning.

Outcomes

You will be able to:

  • explore practical activities which develop learning in triple science
  • develop strategies for managing practical work effectively
  • understand the assessment of practical skills in triple science courses
  • explore a range of resources which provide practical activities
