Summary

Delivering high quality learning in science can increase attainment of students across all subjects in the curriculum. This course looks at how successful mapping of the curriculum for progression from Key Stage 1 to Key Stage 2 can help to ensure that students will achieve their full potential, through being engaged in science, seeing links between subjects and through encouraging higher level thinking

Outcomes

 

  • ensure that there is clear mapping for progression from Key Stage 1 to Key Stage 2
  • plan investigations in greater depth, opening up opportunities for cross-curricular links including literacy and numeracy
  • use strategies to develop children’s higher level thinking skills
