STEM Learning and the National Centre for Computing Education took centre stage at the Tomorrow’s Engineers Week’s Big Assembly in November.
2019’s Tomorrow’s Engineers Week took place 4-8 November, highlighting how engineering can be the career to fulfil young people’s dreams of rewarding careers tackling important issues facing society.
At the heart of the Week was the Tomorrow’s Engineers Week Big Assembly where over 50,000 young people took take part in the same school assembly at the same time, watching a panel of inspirational engineers on a mission to improve people’s health and the nation’s wellbeing.

Natalie Cheung: STEM Ambassador Coordinator, STEM Learning
A civil engineer with a passion for mentoring young people to become engineers on a mission.
Gemma Taylor: Senior Subject Specialist, STEM Learning
An engineer on a mission to get more schools to understand the importance of engineering, computing and IT. Gemma was representing the National Centre for Computing Education, of which STEM Learning is a consortium partner.
Bryn Noble: Civil Engineer, WSP
A civil engineer on a mission to help protect the environment.
Mat Murgatroyd: Degree Apprentice in Mechanical Engineering, DePuy Synthes
A mechanical engineer working on a mission to improve the mobility of patients with knee issues.
Nana Odom: Clinical Engineering Manager, Cleveland Clinic London
A clinical engineer on a mission to use technology to support and advance patient care.
Tijana Jevtic Vojinovic: Research Fellow, University College London
A biomedical engineer on a mission to held up rehabilitation and assistive technology at the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital.

For this year, lesson plans are also available, helping teachers integrate the Assembly into a wider school assembly, a science, technology, engineering or maths (STEM) subjects lesson or a personal, social, health and economic (PSHE) session.
