Summary
If you teach year 3 or 4, this course will give you the know-how to plan a successful curriculum, help you feel more confident in your science knowledge, and teach you how to get those outstanding results, whilst meeting the needs of each pupil and your school. You will spend two days exploring ways of bringing the lower KS2 curriculum to life through practical lessons and have the opportunity to bring your own ideas to try out and discuss in a safe, supportive environment away from the daily routine of school life.

This course is for subject leaders and class teachers who have responsibility for year 3 and 4 science.
What topics are covered?
This two day course covers:

⚪ progression through enquiry skills
⚪ subject knowledge and misconceptions in biology, chemistry and physics
⚪ ensuring coverage of the lower KS2 science curriculum
⚪ applying mathematical skills and knowledge within a science context
⚪ assessment of lower KS2 science
How long is the course?
This is a two day remote delivered course. To participate in full, you will need to ensure you have dedicated time away from the classroom, as you would if this were a face to face course. We will take regular breaks and structure the content so that it is interactive and impactful. You must attend all sessions in order to receive the bursary, and sessions will not be recorded.
