SSERC / IOP online summer school NS229
A two day, online course for teachers incorporating practical sessions, lectures on relativity, curved space, pedagogical techniques as well as input from university undergraduates.
Summary
This online event aims to offer opportunities that will support the delivery of National 4/5, Higher and Advanced Higher Physics. Delegates will be sent science equipment which will be used in the online practical sessions. Delivered over a two-day programme, we plan presentations from lecturers, IOP members, undergraduates, practising teachers as well as practical sessions by sserc staff.

- confirmation of an offer of a place on the course together with details on enrolment procedures
- information on ENTHUSE funding and how to apply for such a subsidy
- a set of terms and conditions which you must meet in order to qualify for an ENTHUSE subsidy

Fully registered physics teachers. Probationery physics teachers.
What topics are covered?
Support for various aspects of BGE, N4, N5, Higher and Advanced Higher Physics. Hands-on practical activities using a kit sent to participants to investigate Projectiles, BeeSpiV, resistivity, Wheatstone bridges ,internal resistance, solar cells and smat carts. Talks on Relativity, Black Holes and Postgraduate Research and Pedagogical Strategies – Tools for teaching Science.
