Developing mastery in a challenging key stage 3 curriculum RP351


Summary

This half day course focuses on evaluating current key stage 3 curriculum plans to ensure they provide progression from key stage 2 for all students. It will support science leaders and teachers in having a true understanding of the level of science delivered through the key stage 2 programme of study and identify areas where contents and skills are retaught rather than retrieved and progressed. 

 

Outcomes

  • discussion to provide the opportunity for reflection on transitional activity, it's purpose and impact
  • greater understanding of key stage 2 coverage and level of terminology involved
  • evaluation of current key stage 3 curriculum to identify prior learning, opportunities for retrieval and focus on mastery of new material
