Enriching the Curriculum at KS3 through STEM Clubs - Northern Ireland Teachers ONLY NN229

This is a hands on practical and engaging course run in partnership with the Royal Society of Chemistry.


Summary

The day will provide an opportunity to get hands-on experience of practicals, projects, resources and ideas. It will provide a showcase of the Royal Society of Chemistry's resources for Science Clubs with hands-on workshops to try the experiments, and a demonstration of where and how to access further resources. There will be a focus on The Global Experiment on re-usable batteries and microscale "Escape the Lab" activities.

Outcomes

Teachers will:

  • experience first-hand microscale practicals suitable for a school science club
  • be aware of a range of sources of activities both physical and digital and explore how to use these to enhance the Science Capital of their KS3 students
  • network and share ideas with other teachers and coordinators

Please note - if you work at a state funded school or college in Northern Ireland you will be eligible for the ENTHUSE subsidy upon full attendance on this course
