Summer school for early career teachers: Using multimedia and digital tools in STEM NC011

Feel confident in your first year of teaching by learning how to use different devices and software to support learning in the STEM subjects and across the wider primary curriculum. Discover the variety of multimedia tools available and how to use them effectively in your classroom. Learn effective approaches to support children to create a range of digital products including video, audio and written content.


Summary

During the two days, you will explore how the use of technology can support curriculum aims. This course will support you in learning what is available and how to use it in the classroom both to create your own teaching resources and with pupils. You will discover the variety of multimedia tools available and how to use them effectively in your classroom to support learning of subject knowledge but also to engage pupils.  You will learn how to use software to create podcasts, animations, e-books and more. You will develop your knowledge and confidence in using digital tools to plan and teach excellent lessons across STEM and a wide range of subjects.

Because the course is residential, it also gives you the chance to spend two days at the National STEM Centre in York with other teachers from across England who are also embarking on their exciting career in primary teaching, creating links and building your professional network.
