Summary

In this CPD session, we will delve into the concept of 'Challenge' within the Science classroom. Our goal is to foster a comprehensive understanding of challenge and equip educators with the tools necessary to develop deeper thinking and scientific reasoning.

Throughout the session, we will:

Define Challenge: We will define and clarify what challenge means in the context of the Science classroom, ensuring a cohesive understanding.

Building a Foundation: Explore strategies to build a concrete foundation that supports students in applying challenge effectively, enhancing their grasp of crucial scientific concepts.

Practical Activity Enhancement: Discover methods to enrich practical activity provision, extending students' understanding of essential disciplinary knowledge.

Writing Challenging Activities: Gain insights into how exam boards introduce challenge in examinations. We will explore how this knowledge can be leveraged to design engaging and challenging tasks that encourage deeper thinking, promote extended application, and facilitate the assessment of student understanding.

Join us in this session to empower your teaching approach, inspire deeper learning, and foster students' ability to tackle challenging scientific concepts effectively.
