Summary

This course will give primary leaders and teachers of design and technology the opportunity to explore best practice in assessment. You will examine the role of both formative and summative assessment in primary D&T and discover how to implement them in your school. You will explore assessment strategies, including how to involve children in their own assessment, as well as developing the confidence to make reliable judgements and identify next steps.

This course is for primary leaders and teachers of D&T.

This course will be delivered face to face at the National STEM Learning Centre in York.

Outcomes

By the end of this course, you will be able to:

  • Apply strategies for formative and summative D&T assessment
  • Involve children in their own assessment of D&T
  • Make confident and reliable judgements on what ‘good’ D&T looks like
