Summary
This intensive Subject Knowledge for Physics Teaching course for non-specialists covers three modules; Waves, Matter & Space, and Atomic Physics.
Upskill your subject knowledge and pedagogy, building the tools to be a confident teacher of physics. Cover all KS3 and KS4 content including required practicals.
Complete the course to gain 3 SKPT modules and a Subject Knowledge Award in each topic accredited by the Institute of Physics.
The course will include:
- 4 full days in-person
- 3 x 1.5hr remote webinars
- Supported online study of up to 30 hours, including activities, videos and quizzes.
This course is only available for teachers in England who have QTS and do not have a physics ITT qualification. Please note that accommodation is included for the in-person sessions.

The SKPT blended learning CPD will:
- develop teaching skills and confidence.
- consider mathematical problem solving, conceptual challenges, practical work and pedagogical reflections.
- be delivered in a supportive learning network.
