Power ups, extra lives and zombies – enriching the KS2 curriculum through games creation CY005 / A16
Summary
The vast majority of children use a range of technology and play online games daily without understanding how this incredible technology works. This course will guide you through the coding elements of the KS2 Computing Curriculum, giving you ‘hands on’ opportunities to experience a variety of programming skills using a range of free to use software. In 2 days, we will take you from creating simple programs to the exciting world of computer games creation enabling you to provide exciting and engaging activities around game creation with your pupils.
This is a residential course, fees include meals and accommodation for the duration of the course.

Outcomes
You will:
- be able to help children grasp key coding concepts in an exciting way
- gain an understanding of how games are created and coded
- use a range of object based coding programs to create games of different genres
