The Human Body
Classroom Casualty inspires children to discover how the body works whilst Bionic Man looks at the contributions of medical engineers and materials scientists to advances in medicine. These resources are designed to help children learn about the human body by providing ideas for teaching about keeping healthy, moving and growing and circulation.
Dancing in Science
A short clip demonstarting how a Key Stage One science lesson incorporates dance and movement.Dance is used to teach children to recognise the different body parts and how they move. It also looks at the effect of exercise on the body through observation. This idea could also be used in Key Stage Two lessons on moving and growing and keeping healthy. Children could observe and measure the changes after exercise looking at breathing and heart rate.
Circulation
Six lessons on circulation aimed at upper Key Stage Two including lesson plans, practical activities and worksheets. The lessons can be used in sequence or slotted into teaching about the body.
The lessons are:

• Exercise
• Effect of drugs on the body
Sound and Hearing
A video which can be used as a series of lesson starters to introduce lessons on sound and hearing at Key Stages One and Two.
The ideas include materials can muffle loud noises, guessing the source of certain sounds and locating other sounds. They also look at the concept of a sound's pitch via the context of playing African drums. Each starter ends with a question which could lead to an investiagtion and further class discussion.
Seeing Inside Your Body
A powerpoint of different images looking inside the body. A short introduction to medical imaging and how this can help diagnosis. accompanied by teachers' notes.
